"River Sky Eye" adds 32 river channel video surveillance points to combat illegal sand mining
In recent years, Wuhan has accelerated the establishment of a river video surveillance system. In 2016, the city set up river sand mining video surveillance points in Xiwan, Baishazhou, National Expo Center, Erqi Yangtze River Bridge and other key waters to monitor more than 10 kilometers of key river sections of the Yangtze River. In the upper reaches of the Wuhan section of the Yangtze River, 18 monitoring points are arranged at the inter-city border of Xingou, Dongjing River Estuary, Hannan Port, etc.; in the central urban area, 2 monitoring points are arranged at the Yangtze River Yuzhou Bridge and the Second Yangtze River Bridge; in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River Wuhan section, in Nine monitoring points are arranged in Jiansi Road Jiangtan and other places; 3 monitoring points are arranged in Hanjiang River, which is directly opposite to Yushidun Water Plant. At present, the monitoring scope of sand mining in Wuhan rivers covers the entire Wuhan section of the Yangtze River and Han River. Each video monitoring point uses a high-definition camera with night vision function, which can monitor all weather and all hours. After the completion of the "River Sky Eye", supervisors can have a panoramic view of the management of sand mining in the Yangtze River and Han River in our province, which effectively improves the pertinence of law enforcement inspections.
